News and events
Imberhorne allotments were open in SEPTEMBER 2026 as part of the East Grinstead National Garden Scheme (NGS).
We were very pleased to welcome over 100 visitors to our site, and we raised about £1000 for the charities that are supported by the NGS.
Do look at the NGS website https://findagarden.ngs.org.uk to see all of the gardens that are open.

NGS Open Day a big success
84 visitors enjoyed the Imberhorne Lane Allotment site this last Sunday, 30th July 2025 when it opened for its third National Garden Scheme Open Day. This was a good attendance considering the very wet Sunday.
An extremely enjoyable day for those who explored the 4 acre site and its wide variety of flowers, fruit, vegetables and even small wooden sculptures. Our members efforts further helped boost the contribution to the NGS charities to £381. Well done everyone who came or helped run the event.
Paying for use of machinery
During spring & summer, plot holders tend to cut the grass around their plots.
The cost of using the lawnmowers, or other machinery, is unchanged at £2 a go. The honesty box is still there for payment of cash in the lockup, but you may also now pay by bank transfer into the same account as you paid the rent for your plot. With most banks, those details will still be there in your account.
Some people are paying for several uses in advance, usually £5 – £10, and keep a tab of their use – a modern day honesty box!
